Just a quick note that I’ll be attending the Zend PHP Conference in San Jose, CA from October 31st to November 2nd. Schematic’s own Matthew Rechs will be presenting a keynote, so check it out.
There are a few things that I’ve wanted to do for a while now, but haven’t found the inspiration or time to get around to them. Here are those things, in no particular order:
write a technical article (for php|architect or maybe Sys Admin Magazine) build something electronic ala Make Magazine Of these, I’d REALLY like to write an article in the coming year and have it published. I’d be able to do the writing no problem, but I’ve had a hard time finding a topic to write on that A) I find interesting and B) hasn’t been written about by others.
Wow, I FINALLY found the one thing I wanted on my Mac – multiple desktop support.

With Leopard coming sometime soon, Apple’s new Spaces feature will likely replace this, but for now, it’s going to be a huge help.
And best of all, it’s free!
This weekend, we’re going to head to Atlanta to explore the city and get the lay of the land. The company I work for, Schematic, is opening an office down there in the coming months. Personally, I’m tired of paying rent, riding the subway to work, etc., etc. I’d like to buy a house, drive to work, have a dog and so on…things that are pretty hard to come by in the boroughs of NYC. To do these things, we’d have to move to, say, Jersey, or even Westchester, and buy an old, expensive house for way more than we’d want to pay. Even saving up for the down payment would take another few years for such a house.
